1. Agreement
By downloading or using Buildwise (the "App", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What Buildwise is
Buildwise is an AI-powered tool that generates DIY project plans from natural-language descriptions. Plans include materials, tools, step-by-step instructions, and links to purchase materials via Amazon. The AI is provided by Google Gemini and is subject to its limitations.
3. AI-generated content disclaimer
Buildwise plans are AI-generated and not professional advice. They may contain errors, omissions, or unsafe recommendations. You are solely responsible for:
- Verifying measurements, quantities, and material choices before purchase or use.
- Following all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and product instructions.
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment when using tools.
- Consulting a licensed professional for structural, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work.
We make no warranty that plans are accurate, complete, safe, or fit for any particular purpose.
4. Affiliate disclosure
Buildwise is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. We earn from qualifying purchases when you click an Amazon link in the App and complete a purchase. This commission has no effect on the price you pay and does not bias the materials recommended.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App to plan illegal projects, weapons, traps, or anything that could harm a person or animal.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our prompts or proprietary logic.
- Scrape the API or attempt to bypass rate limits.
- Resell or sublicense Buildwise output as your own service.
6. Content ownership
You retain all rights to the prompts you enter. Generated plans are provided to you to use for your personal DIY projects, share with friends, and print as PDFs. You may not republish generated plans on a competing service.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to property damage, injury, or financial loss from acting on a Buildwise plan.
8. Service availability
We do our best to keep Buildwise running but make no uptime guarantees. The App may be unavailable due to maintenance, AI provider outages, or rate limiting.
9. Changes
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will post material changes here with a new "Last updated" date.
