Privacy Policy

Buildwise (the "App", "we", "us", "our") publishes this Privacy Policy to explain what information we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over it. We aim to keep this short and honest.
1. What we collect
- Project prompts and generated plans. When you generate a project, your prompt is sent to our backend and to Google's Gemini API. We store the prompt and the generated plan in our database (Firebase Firestore) so that identical prompts return cached results and so we can debug quality issues. Plans you generate are also saved locally on your device.
- Anonymous device identifier. A randomly generated, anonymous Firebase Auth ID is assigned the first time you open the App. It's used for rate limiting and to associate your plans with your device. It is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
- Usage events. Analytics events (which screens you visit, which buttons you tap, error occurrences) are sent to Firebase Analytics to help us improve the App.
- Crash data. When the App crashes, diagnostic information is sent to Firebase Crashlytics. This includes the crash stack trace and the device model — it does not include your prompts or generated plans.
- Hashed device fingerprint. A SHA-256 hash of your Firebase Auth ID plus a server-side salt is used for rate-limit accounting. The hash is non-reversible.
2. What we don't collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contact list.
- Your precise location.
- Photos or files from your device.
- Your purchase history on Amazon. (We only know that a Buy button was tapped — not whether you ultimately purchased.)
3. Tracking and advertising
The App may use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. We ask for your permission once, then either honor your choice or run without tracking. We use AppsFlyer to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns — but only if you have not opted out via ATT.
4. Third-party services
We rely on the following processors. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — auth, storage, analytics, crash reporting.
- Google Gemini API — AI plan generation.
- Render — backend hosting.
- Amazon Associates — affiliate links. We do not transmit your data to Amazon. Tapping a Buy button opens an Amazon search URL with our affiliate tag.
- AppsFlyer — install attribution (only with ATT consent).
5. Your rights
You can delete all your server-side data at any time from the App: Settings → Delete My Data. This wipes every plan tied to your device hash from our database and clears local storage. The action is irreversible.
You can also email privacy@buildwise.app with any request related to your data.
6. Children
Buildwise is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us and we will delete the data.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
